Learn about Fife, Washington
Once a small farming town, Fife has grown into a hub of the community, industry, and retail opportunities. Fife is located conveniently between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and the Port of Tacoma, intersected by I-5, and at the edges of Pierce and King County. No B+O tax, I-5 exposure, and a responsive City Government and Chamber of Commerce make the City of Fife the perfect place to do business.
One of our favorite local attractions is
Firewood Farm Alpacas
Firwood Farm Alpacas is located about 30 miles south of Seattle in Fife. Firwood Farm is owned by Greg and Leanna Stidham and named after a neighborhood many “old-timers” refer to as Firwood. At this time, they are a small farm situated on four acres of fertile valley soil which offers excellent forage for the alpacas. They have owned alpacas since 2006 and have done strictly alpaca rescue since 2012. Firwood Farm is an approved foster for Pierce County Animal Control in cases of alpaca animal cruelty seizures. They have taken in and rehomed over 60 alpacas since starting the rescue. Some are “foster fails” and will live out their lives here as they require special care.
Not only can you visit with alpacas up close and personal, but you can also participate in alpaca yoga! There is also a fun gift shop with items made from alpaca wool. Your admission cost, donations, and purchases in the gift shop support their mission to rescue and re-home alpacas.
